Learn the Fundamentals, Protect your Innovations
IP Pathways is an education series designed to equip startups and scaleups with the fundamentals of intellectual property, IP strategy and business growth.
Registration is open for IP Pathways - IP Certification Level 1. This course is available, free-of-charge to applicants located in British Columbia. Applicants must be part of a small to medium-sized organization to be eligible to participate.
Presented by New Ventures BC and Innovate BC, this program is delivered in both virtual and in-person options. By the end of this course, startups and scaleups will gain knowledge and actionable insights to align IP strategy and business strategy.
Note to AccelerateIP Applicants:
If you have completed the AccelerateIP Stream 1 Certification Program, you do not need to complete the IP Pathways Program in addition. For those applying to AccelerateIP Stream 2-2 or Stream 3, successful completion of this program can fulfill application education requirements.

Please note that registration does not guarantee a spot on our next available cohort. You will be offered a spot in a cohort after your application has been reviewed.
Course outline
For virtual sessions, participants will attend three online sessions, which include a lecture, recommended supplementary viewing, and group discussions on case studies. Sessions are approximately 90 minutes, and participants will be assigned additional information before each session. Following the sessions, students will complete a Final Exam to receive their certification.
For in-person sessions, participants will attend a 1-day accelerated course over 3 hours, composed of both lectures and group discussions. After the 1-day session, students will complete a Final Exam to receive certification
